This is my story
As a fashion designer for over 15 years I did not like what fashion had become, and I did not want to be a part of it anymore. The abusive and underpaid work conditions of manufacturers and designers alike. Always pushing for lower costs and larger profits, no matter who it affected. When I became a mom everything changed. I didn't know how I could continue with this demanding career and be a present mom. So I made the decision of being a stay at home mom for 6 years. But I always missed creating and financially contributing to the household. I knew that I needed to do something very different than what I had done to achieve what I wanted. I needed to lead the change that I wanted so see in an over saturated, trend and profit only centered industry. I saved every penny to invest in my own business and got to work, trying to figure out how I could change something that seemed impossible to change. I started teaching myself everything I could about the online fashion business in the US, I learned to do my own prints, learned how to scale my own sewing patterns, printed my own fabric and started selling to friends and at markets. I realized so many moms were wanting to use their skills to create from home, be present for their babies and have an extra income to be proud of and call their own. There were houndreds if not thousands of stay at home moms that were sewing and selling their creations over social media and facebook groups!. Some of them making over 6 figures. I got really excited and saw a huge market possibility there. And that is how Helga Luise was born!.
Creative process
First I design all the prints and choose the color palete that is going to be determine the vibe of the season. I also choose which sewing pattern better aligns with the collection to make them the most comfortable and cute for your little one.
Manufacturing
Then I create the samples and prototypes for each design and launch the collection about 1 month before the season starts to have all the orders ready by the start of the season.
Out TAT is about 10-15 business days depending on the design and if we have the fabric in stock or need to order it.
Fabric & Material selection
Then I choose the ideal and most comfy high quality fabrics for each style and have the fabrics custom made for the collection. I also choose any special details like ribbons, embroideries or lace details.
All fabrics are sourced and printed in the US, some are organic or even milled in the states.
Garments that you love and that last
Once the order is ready to ship we notify you. Everything is made specially for your little one so if there is any special request we are always happy to try and accomodate.

All our designs are all made to order. Why?:
1. You get exactly the fit and size that fits your little one´s body type.
2. Mass produced fashion is all premade in regular sizes that don´t necessarily fit or sell. That´s why there are constant sales and if it does not sell it ends up in landfils. Yes brand new clothes in the trash believe it or not.
Every child is unique and their little bodies deserve the comfort that comes with a well made garment.
